TLV, along with the Ponilala community in Ermera, and our generous donors, can take immense pride in their collective achievement. As of March 2024, TLV’s largest project to date, the pre-primary school in Ponilala, has at last opened its doors to numerous children of pre-primary age.
This significant milestone means that many children, who previously had to undertake long journeys to the nearest neighbouring schools, now have access to education right in their own community.
The Ponilala Kindergarten / Pre-School is in the District of Ermera and was requested by the community. The project includes the installation of a sanitation facility for the children. TLV received a Grant from the 2/2 Commando Association of Australia for the installation of the sanitation facility. The school will consist of two classrooms, an administration room for teachers, a toilet block and water tank.
